I recently redesigned TDK Life on Record's headphone packaging design for 2014. The TDK Life on Record headphones are sold globally, which makes having a packaging design that is successful in all regions a huge challenge. Our team gathered feedback from our global regions about our previous headphone packaging design and I implemented some of the input into our new current design. Shelf impact was instantly improved upon with the use of negative space, bright colors and an interruptive placement of vertical copy. The premium perception was enhanced with eye-catching printing techniques. We also segmented the headphones into categories using color, which helps the consumer better understand which style they are purchasing. This global design has been well received by all of our regional partners, which is something that has always been very challenging with this category of products in the past.
